Creating Space for New Technology…

On every level - from single operator edit desks to news control rooms - organized workspaces lead to greater efficiency, productivity, and personal performance. Call it human factor engineering, form follows function, feng-shui, or ergonomics, the basic task is the same - create an optimal interface between people and technology – and in TBC’s case specifically in the form of desks, consoles, equipment cabinetry and monitor walls.
TBC designs and manufactures technical furniture systems. Our primary focus is broadcast and video production but also includes security, network operations, transportation, power utilities, and healthcare. We deliver and install consoles on a local, national and international scale. With major installations in Australia, UK, Singapore, India and Japan as well as providing consoles for NBC at the Bejing Olympics, our geographic market has truly become worldwide.

TBC’s offices and shop are located in a 20,000 square foot facility in Edgewood, NY. Our full time staff of 45 include designers, engineers, project managers, CNC operators, expert craftsman, laminators and metal workers all geared to the efficient production of quality technical furniture.
For more than 20 years TBC’s reputation has been built upon exceeding client expectations with superior design, quality products and the service to back it up. We do our best to make each project a success and stand behind everything we do or make. If something goes wrong – we will fix it. If there is a deadline – we get it there. We act with integrity and honesty at all times and if we can do something extra to make our clients happy – we do it.
A brief history…
 |

TBC was born in 1988 - the heyday of the New York City post-production edit suite. The design of each console was unique and had to surpass the one before it in use of quality materials, intricate woodworking and finding a particular style that worked with each facility.
By the beginning of the new century the era of the great NYC Post-Production facilities was in decline. In its place was a new breed of console requirements driven by the needs of non-linear editing technology. These new consoles were simpler and more basic in design.
At the same time, Cable TV channels began to proliferate. TBC’s market quickly grew from Metropolitan NY facilities to facilities across the country. |
And then came the sport facilities. Of course, ESPN and FOX Sports, NBC Olympics, but dozens of stadium scoreboard control rooms. Here is a partial listing...

Trac Based Consoles…

 |
New technology requires new console solutions. TBC’s first encounter with mounting multiple LCD monitors was with USA Networks in 1999. Our team came up with the idea of using t-slotted aluminum extrusion running horizontally above the console as the perfect mounting solution.
Since that time, TBC has continued to innovate the use of aluminum extrusion as an essential element in console design and construction. The IntelliTrac Console System, introduced in 2004, was the first console system to combine a rear extrusion ‘Trac’ with a completely modular-adaptable design.
IntelliTrac quickly became the industry standard bearer for state-of-the-art video production consoles. However, we continually update and improve this product, providing increased cable management, power distribution, adding an adjustable depth frame and most recently introducing a motorized height adjustable desktop at NAB 2010.
Our SmartTrac console was introduced in 2005. Smart Trac integrates the essential components of TBC’s IntelliTrac system in a small form factor, simple, cost-effective console suitable for multiple applications. SmartTrac combines a completely adaptable, height adjustable console with a rear device ‘Trac’ for mounting LCD monitors and speakers.
TracWall, introduced in 2006, is a system for creating flat panel monitor wall utilizing a gridwork of structural t-slotted aluminum as the also essential element of its design.
Even our SmartCarts incorporate inlaid aluminum extrusion for mounting LCD panels (or other accessories).
Together this growing family of ‘Trac’ products – all based TBC’s pioneering use of t-slotted aluminum extrusion in technical furniture - represent a complete solution for any video production facility or technology intensive environment.
